We are celebrating 4 months with our sweet and handsome boy! We have made huge strides with some of his fears and he is a different dog then when we brought him home. He was honored at Bailing out Benji’s annual fundraiser in the “Puppy Mill Survivor Hall of Fame”. We can’t imagine life without him!
On July 1st 2023, my husband Craig and I brought home an 11 year old Cavalier King Charles Spaniel named “Iggy”. “Iggy” was pulled from a Wisconsin puppy mill in the Spring. He likely was born at the mill and as soon as was able, was used to breed many females, creating many litters of puppies. These puppies are sold mostly to pet stores all across the country.
“Iggy” was originally rescued by a senior, special needs and hospice dog rescue based in Whitewater. We have supported Albert’s since their inception in 2017. We are grateful for their undying devotion to the overlooked dogs sitting in shelters, surrendered or abandoned by their owners.
Please consider supporting Albert’s with a donation, wearing their swag, sharing their info, fostering or adopting. Albert’s Dog Lounge
Life as a mill dog is unacceptable for our loyal loving canine companions. Little human contact, bred until they can no longer preform or give birth to live puppies. Bailing out Benji is a not for profit, fighting for the dogs in mills, dogs being used for medical testing, lost and stray dogs. Below is a link to this amazing organization and the work they do.
“Iggy’s” wonderful foster mom did an amazing job transition him from life in a barn to life in a home. In her care “Iggy” was neutered, treated for some skin issues and had a dental with 14 extractions, and a heart murmur was discovered. Mills are notorious for ignoring obvious health issues. “Iggy” likely never had a heartworm test or preventative, never vaccinated and his heart murmur was not addressed.
It has been 3 weeks since we brought “Iggy” home and he is the light of our lives! We waited many years before bringing a new pet home and we think “Iggy” was well worth the wait.
